Mid-Level PHP Developer — E-Commerce Company (Hybrid Dublin, €55k - €65k)

Location: Dublin (Hybrid, 2 days onsite per week)
Salary: €55,000 - €65,000 DOE

As part of our continued growth, we are looking for a talented Mid-Level PHP Developer to join our development team.


The Role:

As a PHP Developer, you’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining our core e-commerce platform. You’ll work alongside a highly skilled team of developers, designers, and product managers to deliver new features, optimize existing systems, and ensure our platform remains scalable and secure as we grow.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain server-side applications using PHP (primarily Laravel or Symfony frameworks).

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, product, QA) to define, design, and ship new features.

  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.

  • Maintain and improve existing codebase with a focus on performance, security, and reliability.

  • Integrate third-party APIs and internal services.

  • Participate in code reviews, contribute to best practices, and support continuous improvement.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software defects and issues in a timely manner.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional PHP development experience.

  • Strong experience with modern PHP frameworks (Laravel, Symfony, or similar).

  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming principles.

  • Experience working with MySQL or other relational databases.

  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and integrating third-party services.

  • Good knowledge of version control systems, ideally Git.

  • Understanding of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) is a plus.

  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Nice to Have:

  • Experience in e-commerce or high-traffic web applications.

  • Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP).

  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines.

  • Familiarity with microservices architecture
